The Protestant Reformation first broke out in Germany and Switzerland because Germany was not a strong centralized state and many people agreed with the Reformation. In this essay I am going to talk about a few things.A few things i’m going to talk about is the protestant reformation,counter reformation,and the english reformation.I will also be touching on Martin Luther,the war of religions ,and I will be talking about the catholic church.I will be putting mostly fact and not many opinions.One opinion i’m going to put in now is that I don’t like history. Protestant eformation occurred as a reaction to the increasing encroachment of the Catholic Church on the political, social, and economic affairs of Europeans. Although the Protestant eformation had a strong theological and doctrinal component, it would evolve into a major turning point in history that transcended religion. The Protestant Reformation was protests for reform of the Catholic Church. This happened in the 16th and 17th century, also known as the middle and/or dark ages. The person that started all of this was Martin Luther from Wittenberg, Germany.


Luther started all this because he wanted the corruption within papacy. The Protestant Reformation was the religious revolution that took place in the Western church in the 16th century and played a key role in the development of the North American colonies and the eventual United States. Its greatest leaders were Martin Luther and John Calvin. The Protestant Reformation in Western Europe began in 1517, with the 95 theses of Martin Luther, challenging the status quo. The theses were basically a debate about religion, whereby he argued that there was a direct relationship between God and man. At the time, all prayers needed an intermediary, and no one could pray directly to God. .
